help for Robert Frager Sensei's situation

Hi all -
Robert Frager, 7th Dan, cofounded a university (The Institute of Transpersonal Psychology, now renamed Sofia University) here in California in the 70s after being an uchi-deshi with O-sensei. His aikido experience really factored into his worldview, and thus into the nature of this new university. In fact, aikido has been a required part of the curriculum for students. So, I kind of feel like this university is a unique part of the way that our art has contributed to helping our world.

So naturally I am very upset at the recent circumstances that have nearly destroyed the institution, through the actions (or negligence?) of the recent president and board. Many important faculty including Frager Sensei have been laid off suddenly after several million dollars appears to have disappeared with no explanation or accountability. Please consider helping Frager Sensei and the ITP/Sofia community by digitally signing this petition. The purpose is to get the California Attorney General to take action and investigate. Fortunately this president was convinced to resign, but that does not explain or solve much.

If you would like to read about the events, here is a news story, and here is the community's website that lays out the plans and progress regarding this matter.

Thanks for your time!

Jonathan,

The California AG probably won't intervene unless local authorities are unable or unwilling to investigate the matter. Contact Sheriff Laurie Smith of the Santa Clara County Sheriff's Office and request assistance. She has demonstrated time and again that she isn't afraid to look into anything, regardless of who may be involved.

Michael
