Hey from EWAS
Finally got around to joining this forum. Been lurking here since my son and I joined the Eight Winds Aikido Society in South Mississippi, USA.
Just attained 5th Kyu and my 13 yr old son achieved 4th Kyu this past week. :) Other hobbies are racing Rotax sprint karts which has been dwindling in it's allure since beginning my journey in the Dojo. Shopping for our own Bokken and Jo so we can practice at home what we learned in class. |

That's funny. However there is some improvement in my concentration while racing. and I am not scared in Randori on the mat because 80 MPH bumper to bumper through a corner is pretty exciting.
I've wrecked before, now I am learning how to fall "safely" . |

Hi Joe, welcome, congratulations to you both on your grading :)
To continue the driving theme, the parallel between the relaxed but not floppy state you have in your arms when driving, and how when proficient we do it without conscious reflection but a general state of awareness (else it's exhausting), is something that's been raised in a few seminars I've attended to make comparisons with unbendable arm, mushin/zanshin, etc. |
