Nice article on Ruddock Sensei - If I am correct he actually started Aikido at the 1963 Grange Farme - Summer School. A full weeks hard training organised by the British Judo Council and Kenshiro Abbe Sensei. That was the first year that Masahilo Nakazono attended - the aikido group was close knit and Allan would have been involved in all the hard training - I would wake up all the aikido students at 6 am to go running before breakfast.

Many years later I met Allan again in Liverpool where we were both teaching at a large mixed Budo seminar.
