Glima and Sumo Cousins?
Icelandic Glima is very very sumo looking, who says principles aren't universial! Or the Viking were in Japan. :D

Yes, the vikings were in Japan, and in Mongolia and Korea too. Here is why there is mongolian wrestling, japanese Sumo, korean Ssirum and flying kicks in TKD, the latter developed to face vikings riding Shetland ponies ....

I'll bite..
The power generation and movement in sumo is different. Glima is way more upright..more judo ish...
