2001 Kagami Biraki's Promotions
Where can I get the list of promotions at the last Kagami Biraki at Aikikai Hombu Dojo?
According to Jun San, Hayato Osawa and Seishiro Endo were promoted. Anybody else? And where can I search for it? Best |

Anyway, from what I heard there was a bomb : for the first time, 6 non-japanese were OFFICIALLY indicated as Shihan by the Aikikai : Tissier, Doran, Witt, Cottier, Nadeau and Lee (from Taiwan). No, nothing about SSS...I wonder why... Finally, the ice is broken! Best regards and congratulations to the new american Shihan |
KAMI : You know...You're right, Jun San. My mistake... Anyway, from what I heard there was a bomb : for the first time, 6 non-japanese were OFFICIALLY indicated as Shihan by the Aikikai : Tissier, Doran, Witt, Cottier, Nadeau and Lee (from Taiwan). No, nothing about SSS.
dm: What does "shihan" mean in real-world terms? (How does it change a person who could already call himself/herself "sensei"? Who is SSS? Thanks. |

QUESTIONS...

Anyway, the question has little importance for non-aikikai practitioners. And the Yoshinkai, for instance, has long ago given the Shihan title for a non-japanese (Amos Parker Sensei). Quote:
