yep - there are several sources on the internet. Go to google or whatever your favorite search engine is and search on Tsuneo Ando.

I was wondering what is the difference between the Yoshinkan Aikido Ryu and Yoshinkan Aikido? Is the emphasis different?

Ando Sensei's group is called "Yoshinkan Aikido Ryu" and he has numerous dojo within his group. He is a member of the Yoshinkan and was an instructor at the Honbu dojo until he left about 12 years ago to start his own dojo(s).

The dojo within the "Yoshinkan Aikido Ryu" group are yoshinkan dojo, but direct their affiliation through Ando Sensei rather than directly through the Honbu.

no, Ando Sensei has not branched off. His group is called "Yoshinkan Aikido Ryu", his style is Yoshinkan.

I benefited a lot from the few clips they have for him on the net, the way he demonstrates techniques is so clear and precise.

Yoshinkan Aikido Ryu is still closely affiliated to the Yoshinkan Honbu Dojo. Ando Sensei is still officially a Honbu dojo instructor and we follow the Yoshinkan Honbu Dojo syllabus for training and testing. All students at Yoshinkan Aikido Ryu are registered with the Honbu Dojo. For an explanation of the name `Ryu` please visit our website. http://www.aikidoryu.or.jp/eng/ryu/index.html

We have several instructional DVD`s for sale - including a series containing all test techniques from 10kyu all the way up to yudan. Please contact us for more details.

Regards,
Stephanie.

Thank you! We`re still working on the English version, but once the Ryu Archives is up people will be able to order Ando Sensei`s videos from there.
