Contributing Membership "Pledge Drive"

Hi everyone,

I just wanted to encourage all members to help support the running of the AikiWeb server by becoming a Contributing Member. To help in this effort, I am now offering a special 20% discount. The annual membership is only $7.95 from now through Friday, November 17th. That, my friends, is just barely two cents a day!

You can view all benefits of a Contributing Membership here:

http://www.aikiweb.com/membership/

As before, payments may be made through PayPal as well as "regular" credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express) through Authorize.net.

If you enjoy coming to AikiWeb every day to read the diverse and interesting thoughts on the Forums, gain insights into aikido by reading the monthly Columns, and search the world's most comprehensive dojo listings using the AikiWeb Dojo Search Engine, not to mention the AikiBlogs, image gallery, news, reviews, and everything else, please contribute! Your contributions will help keep AikiWeb running and will encourage new and exciting new features.

To subscribe, simply head over to the subscriptions page:

http://www.aikiweb.com/forums/subscriptions.php

Your Contributing Member subscription will then be enabled within 15 minutes!

Thank you again, everyone, for your consideration, and thank you especially to all of those who have become Contributing Members.

C'mon folks, dig deep. Jun does a great job with this site, and we should show our gratitude. Besides, having that little gold star beside your name is WAY stylin'... ;)

You're right Clark, and I do appreciate Juns work immensely. I feel quite guilty for not contributing but I'm also quite a tight bugger. What does the money go towards and how can people who use Stirling (the Queens pound notes) pay?

Hi Ian,

The money goes towards maintenance items such as hardware upgrades, server fees, and the number of hours I've spent (and continue to spend) taking care of programming and other administrative tasks.

I believe the credit card processing through authorize.net allows for international payment.

Best,

Hi Jun,

Is there any way to tell when a membership is due for renewal?

Many thanks for everything,

Paul

I believe the system sends you a piece of e-mail when your membership is about to run out. Can anyone confirm?

Yes - I had renewed on 11/02/2005 and on 11/02/2006 (exactly one year later) I received an e-mail from "AikiWeb Aikido Forums Forums" (sic) with the subject "Paid Subscription Expiry Notice" advising me that the subscription was about to expire.

But - I believe the question was if there's a way to tell when a subscription will be due for renewal. The answer to that is "yes" -- Take a look at the Paid Subscriptions page and if you are logged into aikiweb it'll show you when your subscription was started and when it'll expire.

Normally you'd get to the Paid Subscriptions page by clicking on Preferences that's at the left side of the horizontal toolbar. Look at the inside menu bar on the left (where it says "Control Panel," "Settings & Options," and down under "Miscellaneous" is Paid Subscriptions.

Hi Jun

I tried to put in my payment for subscription via the authorised net ( iwas paying with AMEX) but it kept giving me error messages and when i tried to contact them, i got an URL not found on this server message.

I'll try again later.

Cheers

Osu,
I am having problems with my pay pal account.
Can I send you a check or give you money in February?
Always want to support the cause.
Don't pay, not play.

Just signed up yesterday. Aikiweb is a great resource and a wonderful way to put your ideas out there to the community.

Thanks, Jun. You are doing a wonderful job! and $9.95 a year is nothing! Talk about Value Added!

I'll be sending an email to all my dojo members to try and help with your drive.
