A nice way to spend $25.

I'm recommending Dang and Seiser's newest "Advanced Aikido."

Stop at the bookstore and thumb through it. I found more than $25 worth of info in less than twenty minutes.

Another nice one.

Agreed! Very well done and well worth the price.

It is excellent! I have a review up in the book review section.

I also bought the book when I first saw it. It is actually a "needed" book. It brings focus back on to the track.

Actually, I wish I could totally edit the original post and title. I had only skimmed the book and read in detail in a few places...from that perspective, $25 was nothing for the work.

However, I spent a couple hours reading it last night. It's an absolute MUST-HAVE. "Aikido Basics" gave me some new perspectives on my training which really helped me advance. With that advancement, a lot of things developed: New perspectives on techniques and a lot of new feelings related to Aikido.

Reconciling those thoughts and feelings have been difficult--maybe because there's not a lot of people who "get it"--because I really don't know too many people to talk to about that stuff. So, when I started to really read "Advanced Aikido," I was really blown away by the insight that I've never found in a book.

Thank you very much. I haven't gotten to the techniques part of the book yet, but what I've gotten so far is absolutely priceless.

I've always liked your posts Lynn, I'll check out your book as well!

P.S. could you put a link in for the review page for this book - I couldn't find it

P.S. our bookstores aren't great for aikido books. On amazon.uk is:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/...477834-8743635

No reviews yet (pretty cheap as well, under 16) - even cheaper in US at $16.47

On amazon USA
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/080...Fencoding=UTF8

Dang sounds like a very proficient and experienced martial artist.

P.S. I recommend to the authors to include the 'search inside' option for both UK and US amazon stores. - I've bought many books on amazon based on the quality of writing in the first chapter and on the contents/index.

I'll second that. It's like being able to page through a book in the bookstore before you decide to buy it.

I'll pass the recommendation on to Tuttle Publishing. They handle all of the marketing aspects. Sounds like a great idea. Thank you.

Thanks all for the recommendations; I just ordered both books, basics and advanced, off of amazon.com tonight and with their free super saver shipping offer it was just over $25 for both. :D

I can't wait to get them!
