uhmmm... let me se.... don't tell me.... oh yeah I got it !! You cut your toenails - right ? that's it isn't it ? :D
Sorry - congratulations on your test. I hope many more will come in the future. Best of luck :) |
Shouldn't you be smiling more in the second picture?
|
Look at the stance.
Getting past being blinded by the bright yellow I see a difference. Shizentai is where its at. Keep up the good work. |
Everyone says the smile thing, the truth is.. the white picture was taken after a regular training session, a mere two hours of fun..
The latter taken yesterday after.. six hours on the mat, a little tired, still a tad wracked-by-nerves, and bemused ;) I missed out on full marks, by one point. For a semi-failed forward into backward roll, where I was simply.. so shattered, the backwards finish ended a little before it should, but apart from that.. and a moment when I stepped back from a Kotegaishi, and couldn't feel my knees anymore (and after watching the tape, you can visibly see me bob up and down, as I try to remember how to stand up..).. I don't actually remember a single thing about the actual test!.. Should have some moving images to give you all nightmares with sometime soon. ps. After viewing the tape, I can confirm that 400lb ukemi isn't pretty, but it looks almost as much fun as it actually is! :D -Daniel. |
Hey Daniel
way too go on the test It only gets more demanding from here on out . I wouldnt fret too much about the not remembering thing its happend to me on every test so far . As far as the second photo is concerned just tell everyone your practicing your Budo Face ! best of luck in your training -Rob |
Belt is now embroidered, and I'm happy with the result. Means it's not just a plain yellow bit of webbing now :)

Daniel,
Good job! It's nice to get past that first hurdle. If you're interested, I've posted two pics from my recent 4th and 3rd kyu tests here: http://www.aikiweb.com/forums/showth...&threadid=3994 I'm another big guy, but I do pretty well. I've been training for almost four years, and I only wish I had started years before that. Regards, -Drew |
Hi Drew!
The pictures from your test are great, I should have some short movie clips of my test in the next few days :) After watching a junior grading on the day before the senior testings, I too felt the same, that I really wished I'd started at a younger age! Best, -Daniel. |
