Ken Cottier Shihan 6th Dan, a close contact of Sensei Shane Riley 6th Dan ( Founder of the White Rose Aikikai), is instructing a seminar at Dewsbury Sports Centre UK on the 21 May 2005.

Shihan Cottier is the head of the Hong Kong Aikikai and has taught his Aikido throughout the world.
A very flowing style of Aikido with tremendous power, Shihan Cottier is one of the very few masters currently instructing that has trained under the founder.

Everyone is welcome.

If the post above is correct then Cottier Shihan has been promoted, making him the first Hombu registered, British born 7th dan. Can anyone confirm?

Hi Mark,

My mistake -- I had gotten a correction to Cottier sensei's rank (as 6th dan) but had neglected to update the news article before posting.

I attended a class he taught in San Francisco a yr or maybe 2 yrs ago at Suginami Aikikai and had a blast. I totally recommend anybody near where he is offering a seminar to get over there!

Seconded!

I caught him at Tam. It was a complete surprise as I just happened to be in the area and had no clue he'd be teaching.
