That was pretty sad, as soon as the Tai-Chi Master got hit in the face he has no clue what to do. I only wish the MMA fighter demonstrated a little more range of skill and transitioned from ground and pound to BJJ to show off some submission skills. I don't think the Chinese would have been as upset if they whitnesses what they might accept as a well versed and skilled MMA martial artist defeating a traditional master vs. what they only see as a brawler over powering someone. Then again this was a fight and ending it quickly is always better than dragging things out and giving your oponent a punchers chance.

Wei also made comments after fight, stating that the only reason he lost to Xu was because he was showing mercy and refraining from using his ‘internal strength.' Wei reportedly said he feared Xu would be killed, had he used his full array of skills.
That explains everything.

I guess that means a rematch is in order.

Kudos to the tai chi "master" for steping up to the challenge. The outcome was of course the only plausible one when he was holding back his fearsome IP. It speaks highly of his moral integrity that he rather will run backwards, get knocked out and tarnish the reputation of tai chi as a martial art then hurting his opponent.

Well at least it seems no one was seriously injured. Could see it easily ended badly for either party, especially if the spectators got upset.

Well this does not prove anything.

Rather sillyness of the mma fighter site, if you know an art does not fight on the ground. Or practises merely form and the Tai Chi master was more of a form guy, the beating a Tai Chi master up makes no sense.

The Tai Chi master should have trained like figjter more rather then only internal stuff.

You need more peaces of the pie to stand a chance

Well, I wouldn't say anything. At the very least, the master learned that he should have stayed at home that day.

old topic, but since i recently saw some clips on youtube, here my two cents.

Taishi is well known as a gymnastic populair with elderly people practising in the park. Taichi isnt known as a martial arts or fighting sports.
any decent person or real martial artist would smile and see the fun in it when an elderly taichi person would claim he is a master and could kick your ass.
only a thug would invite such an elderly person with no fighting experience and brutally attack and humiliate him.

in another clip though whenhe spars with a guy his own age, he gets his ass kicked, and latercomplains about it that it wasnt fair.

The whole thing is sickening and says a lot about mma mentality and youtubers.
