in aikido there is a lot of emphasis on hip movement and using a strong and 3-dimensional hip. Do you think this makes us aikidoka better lovers? ;)

Relax, take a deep breath and do a tenkan. Get off the line and blend. Jeez! Folks are so sensitive and so easily offended these days. Now let me spin out of here.

Perhaps vulgar was a somewhat rough translation. Forgive me, English is my second language I think "stupid" would be a closer match to what I had in mind. |

Quote from DiNalt on other thread: (Who is everyone)
"I enjoy my girls lightly grilled with a bottle of nice Chianti. __________________ ---------------- Aleksey S" OK DiNalt, Please, tell us again just what it is you found "vulgar/stupid" about shadows question........? You seem to be hitting both sides of the fence here. Hey, if you live in a glass house......jeeez!! Regards, Dan P. - Mongo |
I think it can be counter-productive; as you get better at aikido you are more able to do the techniques in one quick and dynamic movement.
Also, focus on the one-point generally leads to tedium; though maybe good extension can be of help. Ian P.S. as far as I know 'Aiki' does also refer to love-making. [Edited by ian on February 26, 2001 at 07:15am] |

What was that about the glass house, again ? |
and by picking that quote what does it say about you? and what does that say to others about you? It merely shows what you think is humorous, same with the question "aikidoka as better lovers"
You are evaluated by you words online as your actions are unseen by most in cyberspace, so choose them wisely they may reveal too much. still throwing stones still living in the glass house still not caring |

Yes, I think mine is funny, and I'm not alone, too. As for the creator of this thread, shadow, he asked the readers, what do they think ? I told him what I think. That's not a universal opinion, I don't deny that others may think differently, but I expressed my, personal, opinion. And no-one is denied the right to think whatever they want about *my* joke, as well. As for your vague references to "revealing too much", I don't know where you're going with this, I don't know whether you know that yourself, but in any case, combined with that repeating ending, you're starting to freak me out. Would you like to check my garage for corpses, or something ? Gee-zus ! |
DiNalt,
I'm not going to get into a quote war with you. I understand English is not your native language so, in case you truly do not understand my comment about the glass house, I'll try to break it down for you. Stay with me here. Shadow has humor. DiNalt has humor. Shadow expresses humor. DiNalt throws rocks at shadows humor although DiNalt has same humor he throws rocks at. Thus the term glass house and throwing rocks...... please let me know if you still need assistance understanding this..... Regards, Dan P. - Mongo |

I am perfectly aware of the "Don't throw rocks if you're living in a glass house" proverb. However, the fact whether my sense of humor is the same as shadow's , is a matter of opinion. In your opinion, it is, and I'm throwing rocks while living in a glass house. In my opinion, our "jokes" were sufficiently different, and I'm not living in a glass house, plus I still think the original post was stupid. This is my opinion which I'm entitled to express, especially considering that the poster's intent was to get feedback. Which I gave to him. If you need any assistance understanding that... well... go ask someone else. I give up. |
wow....I sparked off some real fire here, still didn't get any answers or opinions from anyone though!
much can happen in the two days I miss of checking the board...... oh well, sorry to offend you...was it dinalt? anyway dude it was just a mucking around opinion, and well training in aikido has helped in ALL facets of my life, I'm just wondering if it's the same for others....and wether we budoka once and for all can truly classify ourselves as superior specimens of human beings ;) hehehehehe so dinalt, does aikido make YOU a better lover? |
shadow is on to something
I'm just mad I didn't think of this first. I'm going to be a strong proponent of 'aikido makes better lovers' and won't hesitate to let my dates know that I am a practitioner of aikido and a firm believer in that statement. :D
And if my Russian friend from school ever returns home (aleksey you are living in Russia right?) I'll make sure to have him go check that garage for corpses!! |

Aikidoka as better lovers?
Perhaps the reverse is true: good lovers make better Aikidoka, especially since the more relaxed you are,the better. -Sophie |
