Aikikai/Yoshinkan?
Has anyone trained in both styles? And if so could you tell me the differences,and/or similarities?
Also i have heard that Yoshinkan is more closely related to Daito Ryu, and i was wondering if that was true? Thanks |
Re: Aikikai/Yoshinkan?

I would say that Yoshinkan is pretty directly related to "Aiki Budo" and the pre-war styles of aikido. Gozo Shioda, the founder, actually was given rank in Daito ryu originally, not aikido. Like most if not all of the instructors that came out of the early pre-war training days. Best, Ron |
