Looking for a dojo near Hayes, London

Hi

I am going to spend 3 months working in Hayes. Can anyone please recomend any good dojos in the area. I have done Aikikai, Ki and Yoshinkan, and I am quite open minded about the style as long as I can learn something.

Thanks,
Taz

Hi Taras,

The BAB has the following listings

http://www.bab.org.uk/club_directory/middlesex.html

http://www.bab.org.uk/club_directory/london.html

The Middlesex listings are probably closest, I think the hut is one of the closest to hayes, if it isn't actually in it. I've never practiced there but it is where Aikido started in the UK, the original dojo of Abe Sensei.

regards

Bryan

Hi Taz,

You're in luck - there are two excellent dojos on your doorstep! One is The Hut, as previously mentioned: http://www.ioaikido.co.uk/ where Traditional style Aikido with Iwama weapons is taught.

The other is Kurai Aikido: http://www.kuraiaikidoclub.com/ which is more mixed style, with regular seminars with instructors from various styles as well as the main teachers.

Go and have a look at both - visitors are always welcome.

Taz,

If you want Yoshinkan then you really are in luck. Sensei Terry Harrison (Kenshinkai) has a number of dojo around North London, Migglesex, and Hertfordshire. I can guarentee you will learn a lot from training with him. I was just training with him yesterday and I can speak for the quality.

I am part of the Hampshire branch of Kenshinkai.

All the best and I hope to see you on Kenshinkai tatami some time soon.

OSU!

Si
