Daito Ryu Massachusetts

Does anyone know of any Daito Ryu
schools in Massachusetts?

There is an awful lot of good Aikido and Chinese martial arts up there. :D

Actually, Cliff is right. :D
IMO, your best bet would be Shobu Aikido of Boston, with Sensei William Gleason. The dojo is in Somerville.

If you are ever in the Berkshires...you are welcome at Berkshire Hills Aikido.

Well, to the best of my knowledge (which means I really don't know), there's really not any Daito Ryu in Massachusetts. There are folk doing stuff greatly influenced by more "Daito-ryu-ish" ideas, however, and you've already received that recommendation for Gleason. I know of a group in Philadelphia, but that's about it.

Of course at this point we could fire up the old "what is daito ryu, how is aikido related and are we really doing it" discussion now. So I'll bow out.

So, suffice to say, Pedantic Man suggests you clarify whether you want to train in a formal Daito Ryu lineage (very limited options here) or if you're looking for a group more focused on Daito-Ryu-esque approaches to Aikido (which is a whole other can of worms).
