Poetry as part of Aikido practice?
 

Hi everyone,

I'm a big fan of O'Seneseis poetry. I also write my own bad poetry to help me understand Aikido concepts. Does anyone else write poetry as part of their Aikido practice? Is anyone sharing it anywhere?

you means recite shakespeare while throwing someone across the room?

"to be or not to be"...... *big crash* oooohhhh that's going to hurt and leave a mark. i guessed it "be"
or
"romeo! oh romeo! whereforth art thou, romeo" and why haven't you text me, twitt me, facebook me, you jerk!

roses are red
violets are blue
you kokyu ho me
i'd sankyo you

Technique unfolding
Wind flies freely cooling all
Damn obi untied

Waves of warm water
Ukemi flows like neap tide
Another hot flash

Boulders in moonlight
Behind them all is darkness
You stepped on my toe

Bokken flashes by
Roaring of wind in winter
Step off-line asshole

Sure! I write poetry based on life in general, on the things that occur to me including those through aikido, but a couple great 'home-grown' poetry-ish blogs here are this one and this one.

There's a ton of food for thought wherever you go and whatever you do, as long as you want to dig in and get to it - and if poetry helps you get into it, then... bon appetite!
