Re: June AikiWeb Columns Now Available

Hello Jun,

I am not sure about "really makes their day!".

A few years ago, the late Ubaldo Alcantara (remember him?) started a discussion about Internet discussion forums and he complained about the fact that discussions were too bland, too intellectually lightweight. I am not sure that this is true of Aikiweb.

Since the book(s) I am planning are serious scholarly works, I have to trust that Aikiweb readers will not mind, for example, struggling through the text of the Man'yoshu, to see how kotodama really started in Japan. Morihei Ueshiba was always thinking in a context and too many people take it for granted, in my opinion, that this context is transparent merely from the English translations of his works.

Best wishes,

PAG
