I use a lemon oil. Purchased it at Wal-Mart. I put some on an old rag and wipe the whole weapon down. It is lightly coated and doesn't take too terribly long to soak in. In the mean time your hands are lemony fresh.

Linseed Oil is good. I rub my bokken down with that.

Tung Oil is good too. If you take some linseed oil and tung oil and pour bout 50/50 each into a cup, and mix it up, it's even better oil for wooden weapons.

I've always been told that you don't put anything on it. Just the oils from your hand.
