By the way how is your Golden Week going - no way am I travelling. Doing some hiking in the hills around here but that's about it.

Not too bad, spent a day out at Iwama for the annual memorial ceremony for M. Ueshiba. I put up some of the pictures at http://homepage.mac.com/christopherli/PhotoAlbum2.html if you're interested.

Went biking with my wife and daughter yesterday out at Shinrin Koen - it was nice to get out around some trees for a change, even if (like everywhere else in Japan) it was still crowded.

Best,

Chris

Looked at them a second time. Really well done - a bit slow up-loading but faster than the first time when I ended up just looking at the thumbs.

Standard Apple iTools page, so no thanks to me :).

Pages on those free Apple servers load a little bit slowly, but the bandwidth is free.

Best,

Chris

Ok guys i think i got it figured out. My sensie said that bujutsu is not a style of Aikido but that it is really a separte martial art.

Aikido (the way of harmony) and bujutsu (martial art based on brutal effectiveness at all cost, has some nasty moves). I guess its like the ying and yang, harmony and discord, which i see in alot of martial arts.

BTW chris those pictures are sweet. Do you and Peter both live in Japan or just visiting/training?

Thanks:ki:

Bujusu (as the term is normally used) is a generic term for "martial arts". Aikido is a form of "bujutsu", along with all the other Japanese martial arts. I don't know how your instructor uses the term.

We both live in Japan (Peter just recently moved back, I believe).

Best,

Chris
