video streaming

Just an interesting finding worth considering. We had been doing a streaming broadcast with VLC and that had its problems-freezing, kicked off, etc.. Now we have found UStream and do our classes online. I did this orginally for some of my remote students in other cities and it seems to work well. Students can watch from home or grandparents can watch kids classes. Our camera is not as wide as we'd like but it shows the main instruction area when I'm teaching and people practicing-just cuts off the ends.

I now broadcast all my classes unless UStream has a problem. It works nicely with good picture quality and I think you can have up to 45 viewers.

Very cool, thanks for sharing.

I've not broadcast anything through UStream, but have watched more than a few videos with it and have found it to be an excellent product.

Would you be averse to sharing the UStream link, or would you prefer that to be more privately available for your dojo members and their families?

Best, -C

I'm from Southwestern Michigan (Dowagiac) -where are you located? I hope to move back to that area some day.

I sent it private to you. It is also posted on my Website available in the dojo search just above the class schedule.

Thanks for the PM.

I'm closer to the center of the state, not too far from your old stomping grounds.

Funny enough, I used to live in Dallas for a time when I was a youngster.
