Favorite Aikido drills?

Hi!

Whats your favorite Aikido drill? I liked the one Dave wrote about, in the thread about "Aikido as street defence, part 2". Anyone else got any good ideas? I'm supposed to be in charge of class for one lesson, in a few weeks.

Patrik

A favorite exercise (or two)

Hi,

I am a beginner in aikido and on this forum but two exercises that I have done in different training sessions have been very interesting.

- One is to have nage or uke keep their eyes closed during the technique. This limits the allowable attacks but forces the participants to feel their way through. You may think of this as two exercises because both players don't close their eyes at the same time.

- Another is to not allow nage to use their arms. Nage should put their arms into their hakama. As a beginner, this worked out well for me because I have trouble just using my hips and bending my knees.

Enjoy the teaching!

Wayne
