straight bokken vs. jigenryu style
I am considering purchasing a new bokken from Bujin. My question is what exactly is the difference between their straight hickory bokken and the bokken offered in the Jigenryu style. Does anyone own a Jigenryu style bokken from Bujin or anywhere else?

I have a jigen style bokken from Kiyota. In the jigen style, the tip is very blunt. Kiyota sells one called "Shibasan"

is the tip the only difference? is it heavier, curve of the blade different, etc.?? |
Re: straight bokken vs. jigenryu style
I think it is the tip. I thought I first learned about that through FischerWoodworks many years ago. I recently visited their website but couldn't find much info on jigen ryu. I then went to the Sei do Kai website and they had some info on jigen ryu type bokken. Hope this is of some help. The jigen ryu bokken I have is not heavy or light but of a medium weight.
