"Modest Master in Bantam"

Here's an article entitled "Modest Master in Bantam" which highlights Laura Pavlick in Bantam, CT, who recently received her 6th dan under Yoshimitsu Yamada sensei.

From the article: "It's better to do something that makes you a stronger human being [and works] toward peaceful resolution, rather than [focusing on the use of] physical strength to just destroy another person," said Mrs. Pavlick. "The thing about aikido, when you watch a class or you go to a seminar and you participate, everyone is smiling. We're allowed to talk to each other. It is not militaristic in its approach."

Congratulations! and the article is great. It's so important for exemplary people to get the word out about Aikido, in the newspapers and of course AikiWeb.

Congratulations to Laura! She is one of the nicest persons around and definitely a great asset to the USAF.

Re: "Modest Master in Bantam"

Last night I was on the phone with a former student who has lived back on Long Island for many years, went back to Aikido locally at Nassau County about ten years ago and I mentioned she should check out the article.

She told me she had seen a You Tube video of Laura and really liked it. She wants to take class with her soon.

In the meantime, could someone please post Laura's video? I haven't really practiced in years but I really have to see it!

Re: "Modest Master in Bantam"

Thanks, Asim. I appreciate it and I know others will too. I'm on dial up and the first one replayed at regular speed after many stops and starts through the initial viewing, the second one had some kind of problem in my computer and didn't replay at all, it disconnected.
But at least I could see the stop and start version which was very interesting and I will play it again and study it.

Very beautiful, very inspiring (and powerful).......

I wanted to thank you right away, I'll try the second video again later. I'm sure I'll watch each of them often.
