The Aikido Link

Over time I have collected a large amount of Aikido bookmarks and have decided to turn it into a Aikido links site to share with fellow aikidoists.

You are bound to find some sites you have not seen before because I collected these links from a wide variety of sources across the web. I will also be adding to it frequently as well as accepting visitor suggestions for links to include.

The Aikido Link

Thanks for the compliments Bronson. I am glad some people are finding it useful. I created it originaly for my personal use but thought others might find it helpful.

Jermaine, as of now I am not listing individual dojos, I rely on the many links to dojo directories including Aikiweb and the various Aikido organizations.

Another link perhaps worthy of consideration.

Alright there Kev. That looks a good Club your training at there. Powerful Traditional Aikido by the looks of things. I noticed your Club is affiliated to the Late Andre Nocquet's Association. He was taught by Sensei Tadashi Abe, one of the most respected and feared of O Sensei's Uchi Deshi. You can't go wrong with that sort of lineage.

All the best,

Jason T

Thanks Jason,

yeah, our association is very proud of its lineage :) Nocquet sensei was the head of our association until his passing, at which point Sensei Emmerson took over and re-named the association as Dynamic Aikido Nocquet in his honour. (it was also more appealing to our clubs on the continent to have a name without U.K in the title... easier to get memebers :p)

Unfortunately, I never got to train with Nocquet Sensei, but i love to hear Sensei Emmerson talk about him.

We held a training session on the anniversary of his passing this year (as we do every year), and showed a video of the last time that he was on the mat.

At that point he already knew he had cancer and was dying... he moved like a 20 year old, it was inspirational :)

I wasn't aware that he trained alot with Abe sensei aswell :)

Small mistake - aparently you have added a link to the danish aikikai to you page, but the link goes to what seems to be a German federation. (www.aikido-bund.de) - however the link to the Dutch Aikikai has the address to the Danish Aikikai.

BTW the text following the link to the danish aikikai should be a little more specific. It is an association of AIKIKAI aikido clubs i Denmark. Ki-aikido and Iwama-ryu have different homepages. :)

And, of course, I encourage people to also submit and/or double-check their links in the AikiWeb Weblinks Portal here:

http://www.aikiweb.com/links/

(Some of the sites in there have over 3750 hits!)

I added the new links and made the corrections, thanks for your input.

and definately submit your links to Jun here at AikiWeb first, you will get much more exposure here.

One small thing. I'm pretty sure Seidokan is an international organization. I know we've got dojo in Israel and Japan, maybe other countries as well.

Thanks again,

Bronson

Please note that AAA is not just a U.S. organization. HQ is in Chicago, but

Aikido Association of America/Aikido Association International is an international organization with members in the U.S., Japan, Bulgaria, Poland, Croatia, Greece, and Italy, as well as a number of other countries.

It is also affiliated w/ Hombu Dojo...
