it's been a while since i posted an entry, but here goes.

ok, monday was a great class, i think my best so far. i really started to understand a few techiques. it really energized me, everytime i hit the mat i couldn't help getting back up with this huge, goofy grin on my face.

and yes, my front rolls still suck. must work on that, but my apt just isn't big enough. so the only place i have to practice is the dojo.

i graduated to doing some of the drills with the other students. hmm, but the back rolls definitely need work. i actually did a few good right rolls. i think so anyway

i was in a state of almost constant confusion last night, but i guess thats normal for beginners. its funny how whenever you get home and sit down for a while, it starts to hit you what you were doing wrong, and start trying to figure out how to fix it. and then things start to drop into place. i just hope that when we do these techniques in class again, that i'll remember what i learned!

i still have to work on keeping my back straight. i tend to want to bend at my waist, instead of at my knees. i'll get used to it eventually.

monday: i think i'm getting better at my right front rolls. i dunno what my problem is, but i just cant get it down. i'll blame it on being left handed

i got my dogi on monday, thank you Jennings Sensei.

i think my joints may get used to this stuff eventually!

saturday: the last time i went to weapons training, i learned the first five jo movements. this time, i got quite confused. but i'm still a beginner, i supposed i'll be confused for a while.

got my first taste of the bokken, thank you again Jennings Sensei for letting me borrow yours.

all in all, i enjoyed it muchly. i know i've said it before, but i am really enjoying learning Aikido.

yesterday was my second class. i began learning front rolls, and i have this nasty bruise on my left shoulder, and another on my right hip. hmmm, methinks that the rolls need some work.

but, other than that i'm fine. i can see that its gonna take some time, and lots of repitition to learn the techniques.

saturday was my first day using weapons. the jo to be exact. the back of my shoulders are sore, i guess using a jo works some muscles that arent used very much (by me anyway).

today is my 2nd class in the dojo. hopefully i'll get to participate more this time.

Well, my first visit to the dojo was Monday, 7/14/03 (today is 7/16/03). I had a great time, and was quite impressed. Everyone was very nice, and answered everyone of my questions.

I had a great time, and can't wait to start studying. Hopefully i will be able to keep up with this journal as things progress.
