So I finally tested and I have to say it was the coolest so far to have an audience. I came in two hours early to practice but, well, I was the only one there. I don't know why but I told people I went through the test over and over, but, I didn't. I sat there preforming zazen meditation for about an hour and a half. The concentration was key to the test, so, I shall have to remember that.

I've just now looked over the Yonkyu requirments, looks fun. This time round I know whats on the test and I will try from now on to master the techniques as much as I can for the test. I want to focus on perfecting a rapid tempo. Yep thats next.

Congratulations! I had my first test almost a year ago, and my Yonkyu test is coming up fast.. Here are my thoughts about my Yonkyu test: I don't know if I should care about passing it or not. It helps to try to focus on several techniques and perfect them, but I'm already working as hard as I can on my sensei's curriculum and it hardly includes any of the Yonkyu techniques. And besides, it's not like i'll be thrown out of the dojo if I fail

Congrats, Trevor! I'm so glad you got your frustrations and nerves worked out before hand --- it really paid off. Looking forward to seeing you progress even more. Omedeto Gozamasu! --- Jamie

Congratulations! I've just recently started in Aikido, but am already kinda nervous about my first test (whenever it comes...not for a while yet). Yet, I'm also excited about it at the same time.
