Hey All,

Well it is 2005 nad I received this mail:
Greetings and a very happy new year to all of you!
I hope your New Year's celebrations have been everything and more of what you were hoping for and that you are all looking forward to what will surely be a great new year for our dojo and our training together.

Tomorrow will be our first training of the year, which is traditionally known as keiko hajime (the beginning or our training for the year).

As many of you know the space that we use on the Postjesweg is only temporary and has not been without its problems. I have been looking for a new studio or space that we can rent permanently. Although I will continue looking for another space, I have found a very nice studio near the XXXXXXXX that we may start using in February. At least for the month of January we will continue using the XXXXXXXXXXX space for our dojo.

Starting tomorrow, all classes will be taking place at their normal times at the XXXXXXXX and the XXXXXXXXXXX-Plein.

I take great heart and honor in being a part of our dojo and the community that has developed around it. I am grateful for the commitment and support of all of you for being there to make it what it has and is becoming. Let's take our training together seriously in what is the beginning of the 6th year of the dojo.

I look forward to seeing you all soon!

Gambatte Kudasai,

I was super charged and ready for some real training so I went to the Thursday class which was super nice and we received a great motivational speech from Brent Sensei and how we should try and strive to be not just "Not bad" but Good!
The Thursday class was nice yet turned out to be a little more Jiu Jutsu than Aikido which was ok and I liked it a lot.The end of the lesson Brent gave out a Junior instructor licence to Jos and Long haired guy which was really very nice and Super well timed!
I then decided that this year I step up my Aikido and train three times a week, so I decided to train on Saturday as this was the year for me.
I arrived at the dojo very early as usual yet i could not get in so I waited for someone to arrive. The long haired guy came and let me in and I was met by a hug class all training in different weapons. Some training with Bo staff, some Sai forks and some Tonfa.Very cool to see and kind of surprising as I have never seen this before.
I was super hyper and this got my juices flowing for class. The lesson ended and we then got the mats out and warmed up in front of a huge mirror. We then did loads of throws and jumps ad flying stuff whic tired me out no end even though I was training through the holidays, quite a lot yet it seems not enough!
We trained in some pretty strange and nasty techniques and after that we did Jiuwaza.
I was put infront of "Sweaty guy" and was told to attack him.
Well I started out very nice and easy an was thrown in ways I could handle very well. Then I was thrown IN crazy ways with my arms crossed in front of me and mad stuff.
I ended up bleeding from my ankles and landing on my head and hurting my shoulder really badly. Then it was my turn to get him back but I was so exhausted that the only think I could think of was to keep him on the floor so every time he tried to get up I put him back down, fast with the use of one technique, but I think I did well and was told this as well. I have great control.

Any hoo untill next time.
