I am starting to see the refinements in the techniques now. I think it is partly because my sempai and intstructors are really starting to point out these fine points. I think I now have a basic idea of what most techniques are like and when/how they are applied...thus the reason why we are working on footwork so much.

One of my instructors the other night told me to forget everything I know and focus on my feet, he says that is where it all comes from...correct posture and the feet. This makes sense, because I notcied I am taking about way more steps than I should be...which equals sloppy and uneffective technique. For me, it almost seems the footwork is where the real magic is. Almost everyone that has lots of experience in martial arts has told me the same thing as well. So, although it will be hard, I will take everyone's advice and just focus on footwork for awhile...I think later on I will be thanking myself for learning it early on "No wasted movement," as my instructors and my father say.
