Wow.
KS came into town for MB's wedding, and added two extra classes to the two already planned (flew in on Friday from Japan, flew out Tuesday morning!).
I had the dubious honour of being called up first as uke as NH and MJF were both a little hungover from the wedding the night before, and I did not see that intensity coming, not by a longshot. Absolutely flattened me, and I wouldnt be surprised if some micro stress fractures were created in the tiles under the tatami. It was fantastic.
Found out next time we see each other (yes, who knows when that will be) myself and the two other nidans will be tested for sandan. I think i have just barely grown into a well rounded shodan, let alone nidan obtained this past spring.
RN got tested for shodan and was given the OK to wear a loaner black belt and hakama that very night for the group pictures, fantastic. He started when he was 68, now 75. KS made it a point to tell everyone present that RN is his master, especially in regards to his commitment, spirit and determination. Well done RN, and a real honor to be your uke.
