Went to a visitation of another Dojo with the Brits, Sensei, and Noel. It was Frank Doran Sensei's dojo. His aikido style is different from Sensei Gambell's. It was a wonderful class though, got to work with a lot of people from Aikido West, and Sensei Doran came over and worked with me 4 times!! Wow! At the end Sensei Gambell made a b-line in my direction and came over to work with me on KoKyu Dosa! It was awesome!!!
Great Morning class. Worked on Kote Gaeshi. I worked with several of the brits it was wonderful. Sensei had me up for Uke twice in the class. It was great!!!! Once I got bonked in the nose as a demonstration of what openings we create when we attack! It was shocking, but I learned quick!
We also worked on kote gaeshi but when the persons other hand (The one you don't have in your hand) comes around to punch you. We worked on Kote Gaeshi on that hand. It was great worked with the Brits a lot! They are wonderful to train with! We then did Semi Tochi (sp) instead of Kote Gaeshi. You could feel where the same things were involved, but the different flows of each.
Evening Class worked on Kote Gaeshi again! I had been working on the boat all day and was dragging butt when I got there. We had 22 people on the mat, and there was a lot of energy to play with. We worked on Kote Gaeshi again, doing some of the same things, but this time instead of Kote Gaeshi on the second punching hand we just too

Bopped in the head! Morning Class!!!
Wow this was a great class. Sensei is still working with us on good bases, and being grounded. We worked on Tai No Henko with boppers. This was a good exercise in Uke actually initiating, it was wonderful. Then we did Kote Gaieshi with boppers, like boken takeaways without any consequences it was wonderful. I was crash test dummy and worked with Sensei it was unbelievable! He bopped me in the head right away before I even moved, then said that I needed to establish a connection to him so that I would move instead of getting bopped. I did, the room disappeared, and I moved at just the right time. It was awesome! We did that two or three times he as Uke me as Nage! Wow!!!!! He also worked with Linda, and was talking about connection. One of the moves was Kote Gaieshi and he ducked under the bopper! Later he said that was something that probably would only happen once, and was the essence of Aikido, moving with the energy and flowing with everything.
A great day on the mat!!!!

Melissa's 5th Kyu test. She did well! As did the others who tested. It was a lot to do as an Uke there is a lot to testing on the Uke side that I had not experienced, and did not understand until we started working on this with M. I thanked Rick Profusely for all of the help that he has given me in my tests so far!

Evening class:
Missed the morning class as I was working on the boat. Evening class worked the entire time with Melissa on her test materials so that she is sure to be ready on Saturday. I am sure that she is going to do awesome! As long as her Uke doesn't make any mistakes! (Yikes that means ME!)

Morning Class:
Good Class worked on Irimi Nage and making a good base in all techniques. This is harder than it seems. Sensei worked with all of us on our base. As he put it, you can do all of the upper part of the technique, but if you don't have a good base you are not in control. You and your partner can both get hurt, and in a marshal situation you are not in control of the situation if you don't have a good base.
I realized that my base suffers from going to fast in my technique, I need to slow down a lot!
