"Training should always be conducted in a pleasant and joyful atmosphere."

Right now, that's the mood at our dojo, and I think it's furthering my Aikido addiction. But before I begin this blog...here's me.

22 years old, social worker living in New Orleans. Started Aikido in late October, currently unranked. Having the time of my life. I never thought I'd study a martial art, and right now, I'm starting to love Aikido. Hopefully I'll be able to continue the love affair.

Anyway, the purpose of this blog is to document my own highs and lows-from my first breakfall (done completely on accident-not at that level yet!), my brain fart at a seminar, to the giggle fits that come out on a regular basis. Through the pain and frustration, there's always someone ready with a smile and a cold beer.

This is the start of my story, and I'm sticking to it.
