In General Grading is coming... Entry Tools Rate This Entry
  #12 New 07-05-2004 02:13 AM

Saturday class,

Saturday was stormy and windy and raining.
Most of Friday night I could not sleep due to the thunder and lightning. I awoke at around 09:00am and got myself a coffee and breakfast. I had one thought Aikido I looked outside and thought "Ohh dear I am gonna get wet".
I arrived at the Dojo at 11:20am and as usual no one was there. at around 11:31 the Sensei arrived and we got ready and warmed up.
We where shocked to receive the knowledge that grading was coming and even myself and my mate Rene had to do it!
I don't want to do grading as it is not in me and I feel as if I am not ready for this.
Yet I know within myself that I will avoid this for as long as humanly possible.
I don't care about grading and belts and all that jazz.
So we went through all of what we would do for our 6th Kyu test.
Rolling and falling,easy basic stuff.
Then the five basic techniques ikkyo, nikyo, sankyo ,gokyo and yonkyo...
We did the entering and turning technique for each one and I now know five different ways to do irriminage...

It was a good lesson and I learned a lot in this one...
now all I have to do is avoid grading...
