In General No Pain, No Gain Tally for the Past Week Entry Tools Rate This Entry
  #41 New 10-05-2003 01:42 AM

- being sick and only being able to get out to train twice this week

- a speedier recovery than usual, since I gave my body more time to rest
- more practice listening to my own body and learning how to better take care of it (since Happy Bod = ability to give 100% on the mats, after all)

Oops --- sorry! Darn...here I was thinking that if it had been a camping trip, it might have made it worth it somewhat. Now that just sucks even more. In any case, best wishes for a speedy recovery!

It really wasn't a camping trip. I spacifically went to pack up the camper for the winter. It was a day trip.

Hey Kelly --- yeah, I read your latest journal entry. That sucks...hope your camping trip was pleasant otherwise though!

Well!? No sooner did I get over my flu/cold, I slipped my L5 disc in my back. Probably going to cost me a couple of weeks training time.

Wow, you too huh? That thing has really been making its rounds. Some of the guys at the dojo got it too while I was away, along with most of my co-workers (despite my staying away with the best of intentions). Sorry to hear you got hit bad --- I think I got off lucky, because from what I hear, a lot of folks got a nasty cough with it too (which I didn't get), so I must have contracted a mutation of it --- didn't effect me half as bad as these things usually would. Hope you're feeling better!

At least you were able to train. That flu affected me so badly I was barely able to use the remote to change the channel on the TV for nearly a week. Blaaa!
