Jim,

Thanks for bringing this to our attention. I haven't laughed so much in ages!

Take care,

Take care,

KAMI : Say, Chuck San, aren't these the same feathery folks who, some time ago, asked for mat donations, since they train on hard ice? :)
An interesting bunch of guys:D

Nice to see that there are some more Antarctic aikidoka. I`m not the only one of my dojo doing marine science, some of my collegues went to the Alfred Wegener Institute for Polar Research in Bremerhaven and started the FIGHTING PENGUINS department of our dojo. On their long voyages on RV Polarstern towards the Antarctic some of them set up an aikido dojo in one of the unused rooms. If the weather was nice, weapons training was on the helicopter deck. One of my friends has a quite spectacular (pasted...) photo of her and a friend doing ken tai ken on an ice floe.

I, too, always take my weapons on longer voyages. Doing Iaido on a moving ship adds interesting new dimensions to center and balance...

AaaRk Sensei has posted his responses to all your guestbook entries.
He's one weird bird!

The new URL for the website is now www.aikidonorfolk.com/aa/index.htm and it needs some revisions, especially in the links.

Some how I've ended up sharing the running of a dojo with another Antarctic expeditioner, small world. Good to here there are other expeditioners out there too!

Finally an available seat at the IAF table ;) or does AaaRk sensei have that position already
