Hi All,

I studied aikido for a few months in NJ a few years ago but had an accident (unrelated to practice) and partially tore my ACL. Since then I've had been moving around quite a bit and all the while working on getting the ole' knee in decent shape.

I've finally settled in Germany and am lucky enough to have found a dojo just fifteen minutes away from my new home. The rythym is coming back and the knee has been quite tolerant.

I look forward to learning and sharing with everyone. ttyl!

Hi Patrick, hope you enjoy getting back into the swing of things!

What is it about aikidoka and the ACL?

Thank you all for your replies!

Aikido and the ACL? I suspect sitting sieza because that's when it hurts the most. My physical therapist however said any activity where one shifts their weight from one leg to the other with the knees bent will weaken it.
