Oyowaza?

I need some clarifaication on a term/technique. "oyowaza" I have received a few explanations but most of time the explainer seemed quite unsure. Help!

"Ouyouwaza" basically means "applied technique" and refers to a class of techniques which have been "modified" from their basic forms taught normally to reflect changes that are necessary for "street application."
