Hello People, thought it was about time I introduced myself.
I'm 33years old ,married with 2.5year old boy.Not trained in over
5 years ,but looking to start up again.Used to study Wado-Ryu
Karate, alongside Aikido;even tried my hand at Wing Chuen.
Alway's regretted stopping training, but was unavoidable due to
work comittments. My Sensei used to be Peter Brown 5th Dan,
Lost contact over the years .I'm based in Leicester ,England.
Would like to meet up with other's in my area ,with view to
training again.
Regards Ian

Hi, Ian.
I'm glad you've started tarining again. :)
I've been toying with the idea of cross-training in a hard style a little bit. How did you like wing chun?

Hi James,
It was quite intense because ,your body was always moving in opposite directions, simultaneusly.
For instance, you would strike the chest area with your Right Fist whilst attacking/blocking the Shin
area with your Left Foot.Meantime you are also blocking an attack to the Stomach area with your Left
Hand.Where Japanese Forms show alot of right sided attacks, you have to develop a bit fluidity and
not be to rigid. That's where Aikido is helpful because of it's flowing nature.Surprisingly there are
similarities in techniques.Enjoyed 'Sticking Hands'

Peter Brown Sensei is still going strong:

Kyushinkan has recently gained "house" status with the UKA and Mr Brown has a DVD out.

Happy retraining,

Mark
