Hello! My name is Jennifer and I am new to both Aikido and these forums.

I am the 29-year-old mother of two from California. I first learned about Aikido when I was a teenager and found the whole concept very fascinating, but the opportunity to learn just never came up.

I moved to this town (Claremont) about a year and a half ago, and recently learned about an Aikido dojo just a couple miles away. I was pregnant at the time but after I gave birth to my second child and recovered from the subsequent c-section, I signed up for the next available beginner's class (which the dojo offers on 8 week rotations.)

I am 6 weeks into the class and am enjoying it immensely. I plan to sign up with the dojo and take early morning Aikido twice a week after the beginner class is complete, and my husband will be taking the next beginner course. I also have a fantasy about someday getting my daughters involved. They are currently aged 3 years and 3 months - the dojo offers a playful children's class starting at 5 years old.
