My word what a great film, a star is born I think. Has anyone else seem this yet? If not go see it/ rent/buy it when it comes out. It completely blew me away. Such skill in one so young. Was wondering how aikido prictitioner would deal with some of the attacks depicted in this film, other than being very friendly and unprovocative. ;)

What art is it? Muai Thai? It will be a long while before it comes out in the states, if it ever does.

Yep, it's Muay Thai alright, but released from the confines of the ring. It is a film that will not fail to impress anyone with an appreciation of the martial arts world. No 'Crouching Tiger' style wire work or actors in the main fighting roles. Not that 'Crouching Tiger' wasn't a fine film, it's just that IMHO :D this is a better M.A. flick.

There is a superb oshi taoshi (ikkyo, ikajo) towards the end. Really shows you what this "simple" technique can do if applied with a nasty mind.
