Aikido of Northern Virginia is the best choice in my view

I'd recommend Capital Aikikai:

Try diffferent schools out to see what training atmosphere you like the best, I found Aikido of Northern Virginia to be more martial art oriented than the others but it depends on what you are looking for.

concur with Michael, but there are many good dojos in NOVA, depends on what fits you and what you are looking for. ANV is my home dojo (when i am home!)

I highly recommend Aikido of Northern VA but I am a bit biased :)

You have 2 others to choose from in Arlington, one in Clarendon (Iwama) and the other at TJ community center (USAF).

Jimmy Sorrentino's dojo is very convenient to the metro and is supported (same organization) by the Shobukan dojo (Saotome Sensei's official home dojo - check the schedule as to when he is there cause he lives full time in Florida ) over the river and also convenient to metro.

I do not believe that I will be in the area for much longer but.... Interesting stuff.

Personally, I have been wanting to give the Northern Virginia Aikikai a try, for I like the included use of the facilities...

One disadvantage of Northern Virginia Aikikai is that they practice right next to the basketball court, on the sideline. In my view that could be a distraction. But as i said above you should really try them all before making a decision.
