Well I've actually been posting for a while but have not taken the time to introduce myself. Hi My names Justin Gaar. I'm a Junior in High School currently living in South Carolina. I have been looking into Aikido for a very long time and i'm glad that i finally get to have intellectual talk with some very bright people.

What does "I have been looking into Aikido for a very long time" mean? Are you training or not? If not, why not? What's the hold-up? Are there dojos near you? :D

OK then. Just making sure you're sufficiently motivated. ;) Welcome to AikiWeb.
Really tho, where are you in your training? How do you feel about Aikido? What is your dojo like?

I'm still in wrist techniques and joint locks. The first ten techniques. I am excited to learn though. My dojo is ommm.... un-deniably appealing. I guess you could say it's a very small warehouse. Along with other places next door. I guess you could say it's a strip of small warehouses. The way I feel about Aikido is VERY mixed. Some thoughts to some of you may seem very argueable. I used to be a scrawny punching bag for the people who eat too much. When you in high school all you want to feel is safe. Especially in the south when, (NOT AT ALL SAYING THIS APPLIES TO ALL SOUTHENERS) I would not be surprised if ALOT of people are carrying knives. I would just like aikido to give me a feeling of safety in my own body you know? On the other hand i do not see aikido simply as brawn above brains martial art. I see it for what it really is. For use in EVERY aspect of life. See, I have the nieve thoughts along with the better thoughts. I don't know how the heck to explain that. I am in school now actually and the bells about to ring. So I'll continue this in another reply.
