Hello everybody...
My name is Yevgeni Lechtman, but all my friends call me Jenya ;)
I am a highschool student in the 11th grade and im 17 years old.
I was born in Russia and in 1991 I came to Israel, and this is where I am now.

How I started doing AIKIDO?
Actually I was interested in Tai Chi and was looking for a plce to practice it. My friend was doing AIKIDO for some months now and told me that I can come to try it. I came and I just fell in love. Since that day I have been doing AIKIDO for a year now. It is going very well for me and it is just amazing.

Most of you probably practice AIKIDO Aikikai, but I practice AIKIDO Kokikai, its a bit different.
At the begining I thought that I would prefer doing Aikikai because it is more widespread and it is O-sensei's AIKIDO, and who doesnt want to do O-sensei's AIKIDO?! :p As always I wanted to go with the mainstram.
I tried the closest Aikikai club and it wasnt it. Im not saying anything about the technices but the enviornment, I didnt like like, I didnt feel good there while in my Kokikai club I felt very good, I admired the instructors and I loved every minute of my training there. I decited to train in a place that I feel good in, no matter of the style that that is thaught there....always.
And after a while I even sterted to love Kokikai and to understand its strong and weak points.

I intend on start learning IAIDO and Kenjitsu\Kendo in a while.
I love AIKIDO very much and I hope to learn a lot frot the information in this forum and its members.

thank you very much
***wow its a long thread :hypno: sorry

Hi Jenya,
Glad to see more people joining the lines of Aikido in Israel. :)
Hope you continue to enjoy training. It doesn't matter what style you do, if you feel it's right for you, that's whats important. Still, never close yourself to other teachers, from your style or others.
Maybe I'll meet you in a seminar sometime?
Anyway, enjoy training!
Anat
