So how do you guys sleep? I put my Ki into my lower abdomen and let my blood rush to my toes. But thats just me :p :ai: :ki: :do:

I've got two kids. If I'm near horizontal, I'm asleep. ;)

I've got two golden retrievers. When I sleep, I become their pillow.

I've got two pomeranians and a tall bed...So I don't get much sleep due to them barking for me to pick them up...just so they can jump back down...

Generally, I put my ki in the draw, or leave it in my coat pocket. I lay on the bed with my head on a pillow and close my eyes. :p

Koichi Tohei talks extensively about sleeping in Ki in Daily Life. I do something resembling that nowadays (ki into the toes to warm the feet). Also, three pillows, one for your head, one to hug, and one between the legs (keeps the back straight).

And also a stuffed fox that i've had since i was 2 sits at the head of the bed.

I suffered from insomnia for a while. I found that a shot of whisky or smooth tequila, along with a glass of water helped me drop off. But since i started doing the ki breathing i rarely resort to that anymore.

Sometimes I take 15 minutes to lay on my back and do the following :
concentrate on the tip of my toes, each one individually, outside and inside -
move up to the first joint ,if there is tension -I'll try to release it,through breath.
Slowly I move through the foot in steps ,ancle ,lower leg and all the way to the top of my head,
down through the arms and back and then again down to the toes - if I am not asleep by then.
This will definitely slow you down and make you heavy and ready to sleep.
Sometimes I try to do this in my kids classes - only avoiding anyone falling asleep.
It generally takes a little too long ,and class time is precious, but it is a good Ki/relaxation drill.

I think where I put mi Ki before sleeping is not matter of public discussion on a forum, but thats just me :p

BTW, I do not have evidence/feel of Ki existence, and until then all this "Ki" stuff sounds pretty silly to my ears... will tell you someday in the future. No offence intended for Ki believers, obviously. Just my present point of view.
I prefer to read a good book (right now, I'm reading a very nice nihonto book by Kanzan Sato), the tireness makes the rest... I usually never go to bed until I'm really destroyed, so I hardly have problems in sleeping in less than 3 mins :D

Bye!
