Am I the only one who noticed the diffence between the way the Ukrainian people and the American people responded to the fraud in their presidential elections?

In one clear inconsistencies brought people out into the street to protest and the Supreme Court ordered a fresh election to ensure no one could dispute that the election was not fair and democratic.

In the other the people and courts ignored all the problems and re-elected someone who won by fraud in the previous election.

No, you're not the only one. In fact, this topic should probably go in the "Voter Meltdown" thread.

The mainstream media is mostly to blame for this one, IMO. They downplayed the importance of voter reform, and so the whole issue is effectively buried.

But, what can you expect, from a nation where its congressional leaders passively approve as Atty Gen'l a man who believes that the Pres has kinglike power when he so chooses, and who made torture...oh, sorry: I meant to say "abuse"...acceptable in certain cases?

The US gov't is acting on a "buy now: pay later" plan; the media is soporifically going along with it, alternately telling American's to be afraid, and then soothing their fear with a "business as usual" approach; and the American ppl are all buying it, because the only American's getting hurt are a few soldiers, here and there.

In the end, American casualties are all American's seem to care about, in foreign policy. It's shameful, as an American. :disgust:

Thanks for the reply neil. I started this thread rather than going on the voter meltdown as it is supposed to provide a more international persepective rather than a debate about the numberious questionable activities that went on in the election of who I call "the corpses for votes President".
