Hello fellow Aikidoka,
I studied for a brief time under Gaku Homa sensei in Denver (back when his dojo was on north Federal Blvd), and I also studied aikido for a short while in Tuscon, and Minneapolis, St. Paul. Unfortunately due to a neurological disorder my training in the dojo has not been constant. I'm starting to get better, and in the process of recovery. I'm doing a lot of cycling and taking a yoga class for physical therapy (even though my heart belongs to Aikido!). The short time I spent in the dojo has gone a long way in helping me off the mat dealing with my illness, and with interesting and colorful life experiences (opportunities to practice Aiki). I hope to be back to the dojo soon, maybe 6 months or so but harmonizing with life is more important than following a date.
I decided to find an Aikido forum when I joined the yoga class, as an of an eyes on the prize sort of thing.
Cheers,
Sorcha
Hi Sorcha,
Welcome, and thank you for your introduction. There are many good aikido dojo up there in Toronto, so you're in luck. I hope everything works out for you in coming back to aikido.
