While surfing the Internet I stumbled upon this text that says that O Sensei practiced some style of ninjutsu....
"Morihei Ueshiba, the founder of aikido, studied Kukishinden Ryu Happo Hikenjutsu, under Kuki clan, and later he created a new system, called Kukishin aikido."
(The text can be found here (http://uk.geocities.com/bcdojo/kukishinden.htm) )
I'm just wondering if this is true because I've never heard about this....

Umm, most unlikely. There's some evidence, according to some sources I've read, that Ueshiba did study or have someone under him who studied Kukishin Ryu (a type of stick fighting, mostly, with a few other bits thrown in). However, the stories of his invovlement in the ninja thing have been pretty solidly debunked, despite the best efforts of some of the ninja-leaning folks and even a couple of fairly senior aikido folks, who, though misguided, could onlyparse through some of the things Ueshiba by believeing they were magical or ninjical .... if you will.

So, if I got that right (sorry my English vocabulary is somewhat limited :sorry: ) that the thing about O Sensei is not true? Or at lest not completely true? I'm asking this because I've never heard about Kukishin Aikido....

Check the forums at aikidojournal.com. There was a thread there on the topic that was quite informative. Apparently there is a photo of O'Sensei standing next to the leader of Kukishin Ryu.
may i ask the title/ author of the forum bcuz i can't find it. interesting cuz i dont see this part of the aikido history in other references.

Wow, if you follow the links on the post from Aikido Journal, O Sensei looks mighty uncomfortable with the touchy feely guy. ;)
