Hey Jun,

Hi again. I registered so that I could tell you that you have me listed as being in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada for those old posting from the Aikido-L chat room.

I am now residing in Barbados, West Indies, and am heading up the Barbados Aikido Federation with dojos in St. Lucia, Barbados, and Jamaica.

Please see if you can get those corrected. I guess people are still trying to reach me in Regina.

My new email address is hizumi@mnxics.com.

Hope all has been well with you and that your Aikido is growing. My knees are starting to give out but they still function for most things. Unfortunately, suwariwaza and hanmihandachi are both getting difficult.

Had to cut out the Kendo since there is no one here to practice with.

Maybe soon but trying to increase the membership in the BAF is keeping me busy.

Hi Rocky,

Hey, it's great to hear from you. I thought I had responded to your earlier message, but I must have not sent it.

I went and edited all of your articles here on AikiWeb to update your e-mail address as well as your current whereabouts. Hope that'll work for you.

How are things in Barbados? I had heard that you had relocated down there. Different weather than up in Regina, huh?

Hope you're doing well. My aikido training has been going well!

Best regards,

Hey Rocky,

Aaron and I were talking about you today wondering how you're doing. Drop a line now and then when you get a chance, and if you're ever in the Phoenix/Tempe area drop in and have a visit.

Take care,

Wow, I never thought I'd see a Bajan (slang for Barbadian) flag on Aikiweb.:)

It's good to know that we have Aikido ongoing in Barbados, St. Lucia and Jamaica as well. More places for me to visit in the region now.:) I'm happy to see Aikido taking off in the Caribbean area. Now we have Aikido in about 8 islands that I know of - Curacao, St. Thomas, Puerto Rico, Trinidad and Tobago are the others.

Been working on establishing links across styles for Aikido in the Caribbean region Mr. Izumi. I've recently opened linkages with St. Thomas Aikikai. I hope one day soon I can come see you guys in Barbados and train a bit.

Does your dojo have a website? Ours is listed in my signature at the end of this post.

Maybe one day we can truly have that Caribbean Aikido Festival I've been thinking about.:)

Greetings from Shodokan Trinidad.:)

Jun: Thanks muchly. Got the changes. I heard from my wife up in Regina that they have already had snow. What is that? As for the Aikido, we are all looking to get more visitors down here to practice with. Come and visit! We have multiple hosts for people who want to come here on the cheap. As for not getting your email earlier, I think I may have deleted it. My webmail processor tends to kill all mail that comes through their own websites. The price of security, I guess. You know you are always welcome down here.

Chuck! Good to hear from you old buddy. How is Aaron doing? Bet he is grown to be fast and powerful. How are your knees. Last time I saw you, you were having a bit of trouble with them. So am I but the mix of Glucosamine, Chondroitin, and MSM is helping a lot (1500 mg a day of each - expensive but worth it). I will always give you a call if I am in the area. Loved working out with Aaron. Make a visit down here some time if you can.

Larry: The website is under construction and should be up soon. I haven't really had the time lately to work on it but have sent a framework up to the server for publishing just last Friday so it should be up in a week or two. I am often in T&T but haven't been able to locate your dojo. I will come and visit it next time if you give me a good idea of where you are. Please email me at hizumi@mnxics.com. Also, a number of our students go to T&T on work so if you tell me where you are located, I will be able to send them there.

Remember, you and your students are always welcome to practice here. Give me an email before you come and we will show you a good time, or at least a lot of rum and beer.

Robert: The dojo in Jamaica will be on our website as soon as it goes up. The contact information is: Instructor - Jamaica:

and

Thanks for the info, you'll be getting an e-mail shortly.

As for my dojo's location you can find a map with driving instructions here (http://ttac.0catch.com/map.html). We are very near to Port of Spain in the Woodbrook area, right next to the Jean Pierre Complex. If that map is not of help, please drop me an e-mail or a phone call whenever you are in the area and I will contact you personally. I'll send you my info on e-mail.

On another note - apparently it's a very small world, George Smith contacted me on a few occasions very eager to start up an Aikido club in Jamaica over a year ago or more. I see he finally found an instructor with whom he could start training in Jamaica.:)

Of course your dojo members are welcome here anytime to train as well.

Hope to meet sometime soon.

Bah I think Kingston would be to far to travel... But thanks for the information!
