So is there sword (bokken) instruction for left handed persons ?
I am a Jujitsu ka, but like the Aiki weapons style. Any thoughts on this ?

short answer -- no

I am lefty, so you are not alone!

but I had to adapt to right handed use.
good news - you use both hands and the left hand has a pretty important role to play.

on your own you can of course just reverse everything and practice left-handed too for balance.
I do.

There is not really anything out there for us lefties, that I've seen in Aikido or Iaido. Practice makes better, you will learn. Or if you take up something like Niten Ichi Ryu kenjutsu, where you get a sword for each hand...

Had a similar thread a few weeks ago about lefty/ambi

I've always been told that there are no left handed swords people. You may be out of luck. This is likely due to the thread Jim referred to where only % of the Japanese are left handed.

Some schools train with solely the wakizashi in the left hand. But, I've only seen it on a couple of occasions.

I am a lefty too, but, I got used to it. (I golf right handed too :) )

I'm left handed for some things (e.g. writing, frisbee), and right handed for others (guitar, bat/racquet games, throwing). Up to now I haven't had much of a problem with the right handedness of bokken work.

Last night however, whilst we were working on some irimi against two opponents with bokken, I found myself consistently ending up on the 'live' side with the bokken in my left hand. It's not something that's happened before, so I have no idea why I suddenly started doing it. Once I'd noticed I was going that way, it became difficult to stop. I guess my brain was just getting in the way...

You can certainly do anything done solo with either hand. Some schools do.

OTOH, you'll have to find someone else willing to "switch hit" to do the partner practices which are the most fun part.

Hey, if you were here, I'd take you up on it, but SFV is a *long* way from here.
