Hi All,
I thought I'd take advantage of this thing called the Internet and see what other Aikidoka out there are saying and doing. I'm looking forward to learning from you people!
BTW...good site Jun!
A bit about me...I've got about 20 years in Yoshinkan under my belt. I started in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada under Kimeda Sensei and then moved (with work!) to Karasawa Sensei in Scarborough.
After that I moved to Japan in 1993 and spent a few years at the Yoshinkan Hombu. I did the instructor's (senshusei) course in 1993-94 and was an assistant instructor (sewanin) for the year after that. I spent a couple more years there as a part-time (ittaku shidoin) instructor before taking a year or so off.
I'm now training/teaching in Roppongi, Tokyo, Japan at a club that Roland Thompson and I opened almost exactly 3 years ago (www.roppongi-yoshinkan.com).
I'm married with two kids, the oldest of who is 5. I'm looking forward to starting a kids class sometime soon so that we can "do aikido" without worrying about banging into furniture or knocking my wife or my 2 year old over. I hope to learn alot from those of you currently teaching kids in the next few months!
When I'm not training I help run a computer consulting company that another Aikidoka, Michael Kimeda, and I started about 10 years ago.
That's about it. I lead a simple life :)
Osu!

Michael told me about your club the last time we met for beer in Tokyo. And I was complaining about travel time to my own. Welcome.
