Hello, My name is Marilyn and I have been studying Aikido for the past 10 years at Kootenay Aikido Kenkyukai in Nelson, BC. My teacher is Jean-Rene Leduc Sensei, 5th dan. He is a student of Yoshinobu Takeda Sensei, 7th dan from Yokohama Japan. Our style is very dynamic, fluid and graceful. We focus less on technique and more on the inner feeling. I have used the principles of Aikido in my work life to facilitate conflict resolution. and was delighted to find a way to explore and express this peaceful approach both on and off the mats. I am posting a review of a wonderful seminar we had last summer with Yoshinobu Takeda Shihan. I hope you will find it interesting. All the best in your training. Warm regards, Marilyn Wolovick

Hello Marilyn,
I'm from Calgary Aikikai, not too far away from Nelson!!!! Let me/us know about your seminars and schedule so we can pass it around to our people at our main and satellite dojos.
If you visit Cow-town please feel free to come in to one of our practices. We are in the Southeast off Macleod Trail. Check out the web site for directions.

Hello Marilyn,
It's Steve from Aikido Kenkyukai Pennsylvania, USA. Funny, I was just addressing an envelope to send you a copy of some photos of Jean-Rene sensei from the May Gasshuku in Santa Barbara. I'm sending them to him too, but I figured you'll make use of them sooner). That was a great time and I actually put a photo or two of Jean-Rene sensei and Berin on this web site - somewhere in action shots I think.
Anyway, that was nice to get your e-mail then see you here. I don't think I'll be able to make it up there for the seminar, but with Kirisawa sensei here visiting for the year, we're really training like crazy in Pennsylvania. I wish he could see Nelson though, it's so beautiful there.
Please give everyone in BC greetings from our crew.
Cheers,
Steve

Hi Steve, Wow! This is a great forum. Fancy meeting you here! (hhe hee!) I'll be delighted to get your photos. You are an awesome photographer and my poster photo file of Sensei's photo images needs work. So I'll be grateful to receive them. I had viewed the images you posted on the Aikiweb site already. They're very good. It's very difficult to get good action photos. Thanks for keeping in touch. Sorry you can't make it to our gasshuku with Frank Ostoff Sensei. There will be more opportunities to train together. All the best to you and AKI Pennsylvania. How much longer is Kirisawa Sensei going to be staying in the US? Can you send me copies of the pictures digitally? That would be nice for my publicity files. Thanks a million. Happy training. Marilyn
